長靴(ながぐつ)- Rain boots

As we enter the rainy season, one new Japanese word I learned is the word "長靴" which quite literally translates to 長"long" 靴"shoes".

This is likely a descriptor of how rainboots often come high up the leg to protect the feet from getting wet!
